As usual (and with gratitude for this) your candor and insight continues to set me up for success. On my way days off from work (I work 4 10’s at an intense little airport) I do my cocoon with my 4 dogs and leave the house only for walks with them at times I won’t see other humans. They, like Waffle, are happy and supportive and seem to know that my days off are cherished time with them as they follow me room to room making sure I am still there. Very humbling. Thank you always for sharing. Xo

And hopeful that Waffy’s diagnosis is good. My big Golden is her age exactly and struggles with his hips. I will share with you a supplement that has helped a lot. 🐾❤️

“I am in awe of her ability to always love and fight, even when goings get tough.” You do realize, my dear, that this is exactly how we all feel about you?

It’s not the end result, good or bad, but the ability to keep loving and fighting during the journey. And, as always, remember that you’re never alone on that journey. We ❤️U

Happy to see you this morning. The flu sucks, never what one needs on a nice Spring day. I am hopeful for Waff. You always have the best doctors to take care of her. We learn sooo much from our best friend pets. On to the next step to wellness 💜💜💜

So happy to hear from you this morning and that you have recovered from your horrible bout of spring flu. I'm also praying all is well with Waffie and her strange gait is nothing serious. Maybe just bad bout of arthritis due to weather change. 🙏🤞❤❤❤ Love you both so much 😘🫂💖

So happy to see this in my inbox this morning and to know you all are on the mend. I think especially we women have a hard time being kind and compassionate to ourselves. We are all a work in progress. Just keep swimming as my favorite little blue fish says. 💜 #wafflestrong

If the past couple years have showed us anything, is that Waffle, the living guardian angel that she is, will find a way. You are both so strong ❤️

So glad you’re recovering from the flu. As an old person, and I am old, I can attest to not having the same spring in my step that I did even a few years ago. Here’s hoping it’s minor, but regardless, you both will always have love❤️

Dave's right Kate.... whatever it is, she is still here and smiling. Take it one day at a time, and today, just have a cuddle puddle with your girls and love on them fiercely. We love you all 🤍🤍🤍

When something is wrong with my furry best friend and I can't immediately address or fix it, my amygdala takes over and I am at high alert. I can't sit still, I clean everything and I watch him like a hungry hawk. I wish I knew how to care for myself during this time, but I think this is a fairly new idea. We are biologically wired to be on high alert when we feel a threat. All this to say, we try, you try, to do your best to self-soothe. But like city hall, it's hard to beat evolution. There is nothing wrong in the act of pure loving. How we do it is always right.
