As always with your beautiful prose, you have brought me to tears. Kate, you have the most amazing gift of using your words to bring us to where you were and how you felt. I am so very glad that you picked up the phone, truly enjoyed your friend and then walked out in the sun. Sometimes the sun is exactly what we need to feel ourselves, even if it’s just for a short walk. I love that girls get you out everyday, rain or shine. Keep getting out Kate and keep bringing your beautiful story to us.

So heartwarming Kate! One of my greatest fears in life is being held against my will, taken away like my mother was time and time again. Thank you for bringing these things into the light, so few people know what happens or understand the lasting legacy of pain it brings. Everytime I see you outside with your girls I know it is a victory, one I am happy to celebrate with you and draw strength from your triumph every day.

Kate... Maura and me really needs to be a book. I SO look forward to reading ALL the things you have to tell. Your imagery is so good that I can see the story in my mind. I can feel the feels. All you have been through, and still try to greet each day with joy ... I’ve said it before.. I’ll say it again. You’re a wonder, my friend! Love you and the furry fam!! Missy

Wow! I’m at a loss for words. Your words, however, have touched my heart. I have a best friend of 53 years. I know the power of a loving friendship. It can get one through the very worst of times and bring added joy to the best of times.

This is everything, " love my people loudly" and "the lingering belief that this messy, madness-filled self of mine belonged in at least one tiny corner of the world". That we are allowed to take up space and love loudly and be loved loudly. That we can claim our own humanity in a way.

Thank you
