I think I love fall the most. Weather is typically still nice, I see sun and where I live we still get some flowers, but the nights can be crisp and the leaves turning is THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!

Yes! I think I might be landing in this choice with you. The leaves turning is the absolute best and I am always always here for the crisp evenings!

I love this and needed this reminder as I head into being a mom, and I just know it will be messy and so much, and finding a way to have time to still be partners with my husband during this transition: "I wish you the power to see your own magic amidst the mess this week", this is what I need every week.

Also fall, because I get to see my students again, I get to see the colors change and I feel the most comfortable in my body 💜💜💜

I would choose Autumn. After the heat of summer, the relief of cooler days and nights and the changing colors of the leaves grabs me every time. Happy Anniversary you 2 💜💜

Loving learning more about your relationship💜

Yes Autumn!!! I also love that you called it Autumn. There is so much nostalgia in that word.

and thank you!! So grateful you enjoyed learning more.

Winter, with its perfect mix of snowstorms followed by bluebird skies, curling up by the fire and wearing all the handknits. This is my season.

Ahh yes! The invitation to slow down and get cozy is an endless gift. Hope you are enjoying it and getting lots of snow! xo

Summer, but preferably a less humid one than the summers where I live!

Yes! This would be my choice five years ago but now for the exact reason you have said -- the GD humidity -- I might have to go with Fall. xoxoxo

and wishing you an upcoming summer that is humidity free! xo

Thank you for the reminder that I should start cold water swimming again! I did it for years but stopped during COVID (we live in a city and weren’t allowed to meet). It felt SO good though and I miss it! Exhilarating in a way that is impossible to explain.

Ahh incredible that you do this!! Is it a group thing or something you do independently? I am always so interested in how people connect over this. I also so agree -- it is exhilarating in a way that doesn't quite make sense. Of course, the more I nerd about it, the more I realize it is biologically wired within us. We come for the water and when we go back, we are home and there we become our best selves. keep me posted on getting back into it! xoxo

Yeah it started as a memorial thing--a close friend’s wife died suddenly and he went sea swimming in her honour (it was in April, so still quite cold). A bunch of us went swimming in the river in solidarity and it turned into a weekly ritual! It was amazing but now we all live in different parts of town and folks have kids, so it’s hard to continue. But I might just start again on my own :)

It’s fall for me. I struggle in winter, spring in New England is just mud season, summer tends to mean sensory overload for me. I find fall soothing to my senses and calming to my nervous system.

PS We went to Hen of the Wood in Waterbury for my birthday in December! And yes I booked it months in advance!

Ahhh happy belated!!! What did you get?! the lime tart did me in. Actually the whole meal. I'm actually drooling as I write this hahahha. and amen to Fall!

Thank you and happy anniversary! The parker house rolls, the crispy potatoes, a halibut dish…all so good! My husband loved the mushroom toast. Sad but true story…our reservation was for 8pm and by the time we were done I was too tired for dessert! I think I need to go back.

It’s spring for me - spring brings me such a sense of renewal, awakening and the reminder of how much color brightens my mood and regulates me!

This also might be the real nudge I need to truly give cold exposure a go!

Ahhhh yes!!! Join us with the plunging! A bowl of ice water to the face (which I know sounds nuts lol) also can activate the diving mammalian reflex. If you want to feel its power without too much trouble, that is a great way to experience the power. The third time I felt the reflex kick in, I was hooked so if that helps, defintiely go for it.

And love spring! The growth reminds me that we are all akin to our own seasons and even if some winters are longer, we eventually grow beyond them back towards the light.

Fall without a doubt! It ushers in feelings of winding down and relaxing. After a hot/humid summer of sweating my ass off, I love to cozy up with a cup of tea and a blanket (hygge!!) and take my pup on long walks to admire the changing trees. Everything about it is calming - the smell of fallen leaves, the crisp air, apple cider donuts...fall is the best.

I love your love story!

I’d pick autumn. Warm days, cool nights. A feeling of renewal as kids go back to school. Leaves changing and falling, pumpkins, the whole thing.

Winter . I always go back to winter . I have the deepest core memories skiing in Vermont with my sister and parents . I never experienced peace like I did riding the chairlift up the mountain, with just the squeak of the lift and the skiers skiing below as my company . The quiet of snow falling still brings me a comfort that I can’t find anywhere else. Whenever there is snow, regardless of if it’s a light dusting or a blizzard you can find me standing outside for just a few minutes to reclaim that comfort that only comes then .

I LOVE reading about you and Dave. It makes me feel like I know you so much better! You’re not wrong about his kind eyes. I noticed them too. The kindest... I’m so grateful you both weathered the storm of dating... such a storm ... to find one another. It gives me so much JOY!!! Thank you for being public and vulnerable. I know it is helping SO MANY!! And I’m so grateful for your advanced vocabulary. I had to look up sanguine and I’m still not sure I get it.

I would choose Autumn. No contest. I love the brisk breeze. The smell of the change in weather. The crunch of the leaves under my feet... and the colors!!! Oh I love them so much! Nothing is better than driving through my beloved mountains and gazing as well as gawking at the change in scenery every week during fall!! It’s harvest time. My favorite!! All the glorious fresh home grown fruits and veg. It just doesn’t get better than that.

My partner and I met when we were both similarly struggling - me with dealing with the PTSD of a lifetime (at that point, thankfully now 7 years removed from it) of severe abuse and a serious eating disorder. We immediately bonded over our love of the same early 2000's rock band (who I will *forever* say is better than any other band out there.

"I feel that when I'm old

I'll look at you and know

The world was beautiful

Then you tell me...

You say that love goes anywhere

In your darkest time, it's just enough to know it's there" I MEAN COME ON. Jimmy Eat World is 👌🏻 better than any other band/singer). 7 years later and he's still the best thing that has happened to me. So grateful we both had access to the therapy we needed to heal separately and together. Love doesn't fix anything but it sure does make life so much more joyful ❤️

First of all happy anniversary to you and Dave. I loved that you referenced it with the word “mess”. Jason Miraz has a song called What a Beautiful Mess. When I first heard that song I thought now that’s a true love song!! Relationships are hard but when you find your person it’s a wonderful ride through all the messes. Love following you Kate!!!
